The Red Eagles managed to achieve a stunning victory tonight after defeating Future FC 4-0 at Al Ahly WE Al Salam Stadium in Matchday 24 of the Egyptian Premier League.
Our players put on a sensational performance tonight and we managed to secure three important points, thanks to a marvellous brace from Mohamed Magdy Afsha and another two beautiful goals from Ali Maaloul and Ahmed Abdelkader.
First Half
Al Ahly started the game being the first to cause the problems, as Mohamed Magdy Afsha was close to breaking the deadlock just after two minutes of the kick-off whistle.
Afsha received the ball inside the box and blasted a strong shot, but his efforts went away to a goal kick.
Ricardo Soares was forced to use his bench at the beginning of the game, as Taher Mohamed and Mohamed Hany left the pitch after picking up injuries, so Karim Fouad and Ahmed Abdelkader entered the pitch.
In the 9th minute, Afsha, who was on a good run of form tonight, sent a sensational pass to Salah Mohsen inside the opponent’s box. Our striker tried his luck, but Future’s goalkeeper managed to keep his net clean.
We kept pushing to score the opener, and we finally managed to take the lead in the 23rd minute, thanks to the efforts of Afsha.
At the edge of the box, Amr El Soulia blasted a screamer, but the opponent’s keeper managed to deflect the ball away.
Mohsen was in the right place for the rebound, as he tried to convert the ball inside the net with a strong header, but the woodwork denied his efforts.
However, Afsha collected the ball and managed to score the opener with a clinical finish to make it 1-0 for the Red Eagles.
Our players kept pushing forward as they were keen to add more goals, and we were close to doubling the score in the 33rd minute. Ahmed Abdelkader dribbled past the defender and fired a beautiful shot, but unfortunately, his efforts hit the bar and went to a goal kick.
In the 39th minute, our players managed to add another goal, as the referee awarded us a penalty due to a late challenge against Hossam Hassan. Ali Maaloul stood behind the ball and scored the second goal before halftime.
Six minutes later, Afsha managed to put his name again on the scoring sheet of the game, as he tried his luck from the range and managed to gift us a 3-0 lead before the halftime whistle.
Second Half:
The second half started with the same pressure from our players, as they were searching to score more goals.
In the 57th minute, El Soulia missed a clear scoring chance, as his shot missed the goal and went to a goal kick.
Two minutes later were enough for El Soulia to provide a beautiful assist for Abdelkader, who converted the ball into the back of the net with a clinical finish to make it 4-0 for Al Ahly.
Our coach used his bench again in the 67th minute, as Yasser Ibrahim, Aliou Dieng and Mohamed Fakhry joined the game instead of Mohamed Abdelmonem, Hamdy Fathy, and Mohamed Magdy Afsha.
Our players controlled the game’s tempo and kept searching to score more goals until the referee blew his final whistle to declare a stunning 4-0 victory for Al Ahly at home.
